The Melania Offensive: Yesterday, we covered the media-assisted PR job being done by the first lady and her staff, spinning her consistent absence and ignoring the Natalie Harp drama.

Hours later, Melania popped up for a photo op in the Rose Garden, where she performed a handhold with Trump and opened with a joke.

Dear Donald: Two of Natalie Harp’s letters to Donald Trump have been released in full, which we covered earlier. That makes it a great time to check out our interview with Maggie Haberman, who talked about those letters and a whole lot more.

The Secret Service was alarmed in part because she had left him these letters in his personal space, as Jonathan wrote about the book, one of which said, “You know, you’re all that matters to me.” You know, they were very emotional, and she is the most devoted of his aides.

So the way that I look at it, Jim, is that she is the purest distillation of how Trump has totally remade the presidency for term two.

More Knives For Natalie: Add The Atlantic’s Jonathan Lemire to the pile of journos with deep dives and Trump insiders grumbling about Natalie Harp.

She trawls social media for material that the president can use in his feeds, including posts that have led to trouble, such as one depicting the Obamas as apes. Some aides have quietly grumbled to those I spoke with that Harp is too inexperienced to have such unfettered access to the president.

Rosie Ratings: Rosie O’Donnell is crushing it in the ratings as she fills in for Jimmy Kimmel this week — even beating Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show.

O’Donnell’s first night guest-hosting Jimmy Kimmel Live! drew 1.87 million total viewers Monday, according to preliminary Nielsen Live+Same Day figures—the biggest audience for any of Kimmel’s guest hosts so far this summer.

That was also enough to beat NBC’s Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. And among the late-night shows tracked by LateNighter, O’Donnell led the key adults 18–49 demo, drawing 218,000 viewers compared with 156,000 for Fallon.

Rosie took another brutal jab at Trump last night.

“It’s bonkers that a defense secretary would involve his wife in his sensitive official duties, including sharing details of an impending military operation, and face zero consequences,” said John Ullyot, who left the Pentagon as chief spokesman after three months working under Mr. Hegseth and has been critical of his leadership. “Any president deserves better judgment from his national security leaders.”

As if the Natalie Harp story wasn’t big enough, signed copies of her letters to Donald Trump have now been revealed courtesy of insider leaks to author Michael Wolff and The Daily Beast.

Wolff has been all over the Harp story, and much of his reporting has been corroborated or even expanded upon by Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan.

That includes the letters, which Haberman and Swan have obtained, but not released in full.

Now, Wolff and The Daily Beast have dropped two of those letters, in full, including the familiar signature “Natalie.”

In the first letter, Harp apologizes to Trump for, among other things, chasing his golf cart on foot:

Dear Mr. President,

I’m sorry. I thought I was the only one left behind last night, and had no idea Margo’s car was also pulled over, and sent back to the Airport. Since I was alone in the van outside Customs without my passport, I panicked, and should have just called Secret Service instead of you. I also am sorry if I was an embarrassment walking the course in Scotland. The first day I was told there were no carts, and people walked, which is why I walked. The second day, I was specifically asked by, I forget who his name was, but one of the main people who worked there, if I could continue walking, and tell any other girls who would head out there to do the same to spare the Course any more Carts. If there is anything else I have done to cause you trouble, please forgive me. I know that some people have said I haven’t been texting them back, and there have been some International cell issues (John was having technical issues on the Plane too, so asked me to help him out).

I want things to always be right between us. I also know I’ve been distracted all week (forgetting to eat throughout the days, and even forgetting to sleep, and only catching a couple hours at a time). I haven’t been myself, dwelling on the Past, and the pain of losing my Dad, and I started letting the remarks of people who haven’t bothered me before, get to me—not because I care what others think, but because I see myself being lowered in your eyes and good opinion. That is the fear you see, because I never want to bring you anything but joy. I’m sorry I lost my focus. You are all that matters to me. I don’t want to ever let you down. Thank you for being my Guardian and Protector in this Life—That’s what I wanted to use this card for, when you saw me at the Cash Register, and once again did what you didn’t have to do, and gifted me with Mementos of this Trip of a Lifetime, a Coming of Age. The second letter is much more intimate — and includes a curious reference to the “purple” appearance of her hands:

Dear Mr. President,

Now this is the Note I wanted to write (But the apology needed to come first.)

I have learned so much about myself on this Trip—I always knew coming home to my roots would be enlightening, but I had no idea how much. For the first time, in I don’t know how long, you forced me to “unplug.” We could be out on the Course, with no machines, and even forget what time it was! I didn’t have to be “Human Printer.” I could take time to enjoy good conversation, and still get all my work done at the end of the day. In fact, I even had time to take long morning and evening walks to enjoy each Sunrise and Sunset (though I did forget to eat and sleep!). With so much thinking time, I confess it did have a slightly negative effect at times, that I know you picked up on, but the end result, I believe, will be worth it. I had no idea how rapidly I was approaching burnout, and starting to envy those whose only “job” seems to be to talk with you, and look pretty. I want that job!! So many times, I’m just trying to stay afloat with all that’s coming in for you, I look like a hunchback who didn’t have time to freshen up (at least you know what I should look like)! Plus, I miss the days when you used to call, during my Talkshow days, and we’d talk about everything and nothing. I want to get back to that synergy. We shouldn’t have to talk about work all the time!! I’ve always felt like an in-betweener, somewhere between Staff and those you enjoy talking to on the Plane or at Dinner, because that’s who I used to be to you when I was a “Talkshow Host” (as much as I hated that actual job!). I wish I could hear every conversation, because that’s when you’re having a good time, getting away from it all, at least for a few moments.

But after going through all this self-analysis, my conclusion? I need to reunite my past self with my current into a better version who will make you proud. And please, when I fail, will you tell me? You have the absolute right to cuss me out, if need be, when I deserve it, because no one knows or cares about me more. Thank you for always being there for me—I’ll never forget when you made that promise to me after losing my Dad, and I know how happy he is right now that I did get to go to Scotland and Ireland, as he always wanted for me. To modify a classic, “I could not have parted with you, to anyone less worthy”—And, I will add, it is I who is unworthy.

Former Trump-Removal-Supporter Scott Jennings has been working extra hard to play White Knight for Human Trump Binky Natalie Harp, but shocker! It’s all a campaign to worm his way into Karoline Leavitt’s job, according to White House insiders who ratted him out to Politico.

Trump press secretary Karoline Leavitt and Trump announced her ostensible amicable departure from the job coincidentally hours after she was seen in a pissy-looking exchange with Trump and Natalie Harp, coincidentally hours after it was revealed he abandoned most of his staff on Bullseye Force One while he stowed away with Natalie and the Chicken Kiev to escape to safety.

That leaves the job open, and Jennings was immediately placed on the handicapping shortlist.

But with the explosion of the Natalie Harp story this week, Jennings has been all over the place White-Knighting for her (he literally told Politico “Somebody needs to defend her honor.”) and lying his ass off in the process.

There are too many examples to include, so I will just include the one that contains the most verifiable and bald-faced lies and fraudulent emoting.

Helipad Madness: Trump held a truly bonkers photo op on Wednesday, taking reporters on a tour of the helipad construction that’s underway on the South Lawn of the White House.

Aaron Rupar put together a supercut, but there were a few standout moments.

Happy Grass: Trump riffs about the secret life of grass more than he talks about lowering prices, but this version was extra-nuts.

You know, grass has a life like humans have a life. This has all been redone, it's all topsoiled. Lot of good ingredients. If you're grass, you're very happy. It was given, free of charge, by Scotts Miracle-Gro. They actually contributed to my campaign. So I wanna thank Scotts Miracle-Gro.

What The Fuck Is He Talking About Files: This riff about the presidential seal would have triggered the 25th Amendment under any other president.

And the Granite Top says, “The Seal of the United States of America.” That’s the exact term.

If you look at, uh, the seals of the presidents, (GESTICULATING) “The Seal of the President of the United States of America,” meaning the president is in the White House.

He also went on a riff that concluded with the declaration “I’m very good at flagpoles!”

NoKo Shot: Trump gushed about his relationship with Kim Jong Un at two events yesterday, and appears to have revealed something sensitive — the oddly-specific detail that North Korea possesses 57 “very powerful” nuclear weapons. Whoever passed that along is gonna be pissed.

He also made another humiliating statement about our ally, South Korea.

I didn't like the fact that we're doing these massive military exercises really against North Korea when I'm friendly with him.

Chaser — Kim Gives Not A Single Fuck: North Korea fired ballistic missiles pretty much simultaneously with Trump’s fanboying, and Kim’s sister Kim Yo Jong told Trump where he could shove his diet military drills.

"We think it's not worth making comments on that and we have no interest in it at all," Kim Yo Jong said in a statement carried by state media. "The provocative, aggressive nature of the drills won't change even though their duration and size were reduced."

Harp Friction: The Natalie Harp story keeps rising like a rocket. MS NOW’s Jake Traylor and Jacqueline Alemany have an exclusive about Harp refusing to apply for a security clearance for over a year while she worked in and around the Oval Office.

An under-the-radar detail is that four Trump insiders ratted Harp out to MS NOW, which is a through-line to all of these devastating deep dives. The calls are coming from inside the house!

Speaking Of Which: In the midst of the Harp drama and anonymous insiders trying to rope Melania Trump into it, her PR operation appears to be working hard to get some positive spin on her low-key second term.

A fluffy CNN profile makes no mention of the story of the week, nor does the NBC News “analysis” of Melania’s scaled-back public presence.

Come On, Darline: Trump-endorsed Sen. Darline Graham delivered the most spectacular gaffe of the summer when she told debate moderators that national security is just not her bag, baby!

Greta Van Susteren: Senator, are Taiwan and the South China sea national security issues for the United States and if so, why?

GRAHAM: I’m just going to be honest here; I’m not that informed on national security, so — but I do support the military. My brother was in the Air Force for 33 years...I'm not a polished politician up here. National security is not my thing, not my area of expertise, but I do support the military.

Points for radical honesty, I suppose.

Cory And The Gang: Trump-endorsed Rep. Cory Mills lost his primary Tuesday night, as did several other Trump picks.

Trump likes to run up the score by endorsing unopposed or barely-opposed candidates, switching endorsements, or just claiming credit no matter who he endorsed. But in a party like today’s GOP and an ego like Trump’s, losses like these sting.

More Than Junk In The Trunk: We’ll have more on the explosion of Natalie Harp news following the Trump meltdown, but this nugget from CNN’s Kristen Holmes is just jaw-dropping. According to Holmes, Harp once defied Secret Service and rode in the trunk to stay near Trump.

This was back in 2023 when President Trump was in court in New York and he was going down to head to the courthouse and the motorcade was waiting outside of Trump Tower. When staffers realized that there weren't enough seats for Natalie Harp, they had an accountant that she would be going down to the courthouse and she was told that.

Now, a screaming match then ensued in the lobby of Trump Tower at that time with essentially Harp saying that the president had personally asked her to go and she was determined, so determined to not be left behind that she actually got in the trunk of one of the SUVs that was part of the motorcade and sat there. It's almost like a cargo hold and that was according to multiple sources and to a photo that I obtained and reviewed that showed the space that she had been in and her sitting there.

Nixon Stuns: Angie Nixon defeated Alex Vindman in the Florida Senate race despite having been outspent by 36-to-1 on ads. Nixon’s victory vibe was fiery.

The Bad News Is: Nixon’s W threw the race in the GOP’s direction in the Crystal Ball — but things can change when the fighting starts.

Dumb Take Of The Day: From Axios — drawing a connection between Dem primary losses and Trump’s impeachment. Sure, that’s it.

This has not been a good year for Dems like Vindman whose national brands were built around Trump's impeachment fights.

TACO Tuesday Redux?: Trump called off 50% tariffs on Canada that were set to go into effect “or a three day period, based on the fact that Canada and the U.S.A., subject to the finalization of documents, have a DEAL!”

We’ll see what happens, but for now, Canadian PM Mark Carney seems to be on the same page, writing in a statement that “Substantial progress has been made, although there is important work still to be done. As this work is ongoing, the United States has agreed to postpone the implementation of its 50% tariff on a range of Canadian goods under Section 338 of the U.S. Tariff Act of 1930 until end of day, August 21.”

The Natalie Harp saga exploded on Monday after an explosive exchange at the White House, but bombshell Regime Change co-authors Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan have been warning that Harp’s worshipful behavior “concerned” and “quite alarmed” Trump’s Secret Service detail.

Sen. Jon Ossoff brought the Donald Trump-Natalie Harp issue to the fore with a jab about Trump’s constant companion and “Human Binky” during a campaign speech.

While the sailors on the Lincoln fight his war, while he fruitlessly drains our munitions and oil reserves, the president sleeps through his meetings. He golfs and trades stocks. So he doesn’t want to do the job. He wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie on their apparently defenseless flying palace gifted by the Emir of Qatar.

We covered some of Harp’s history on Monday morning, including the many references to her Trump devotion in Regime Change.

As expected, the remark triggered MAGA and Trump, whose White House attacked CNN White House correspondent Kristen Holmes for asking about Ossoff’s comments.

But the reason this is a story at all is that Harp was one of the few Trump figures — including multiple cabinet-level officials — who wasn’t left stranded on the Human Shield Force One flight out of Turkey. There has even been speculation that the incident may have been instrumental in Karoline Leavitt’s departure.

Even before that incident came to light, Haberman and Swan were making stunning revelations about Harp that somehow stayed under the radar.

Holmes pressed Trump for a response to Georgia Senator Jon Ossoff’s stinging remark that the president would rather spend time with his aide, Natalie Harp than do his job. She also challenged Trump on his dangerous betrayal of South Korea. Trump lashed back in a way that feels awfully familiar to yours truly and other reporters who have spent time covering this particular occupant of the Oval Office.

“Quiet, quiet, quiet. You’re very disrespectful,” he said, in typical Trumpian projection. “Fake news, you’re fake news, you’re a loud boisterous person. You’re fake news. Be quiet. Be quiet. You’re a fake reporter and you report fake news.”

Way back in January of 2017, Trump coined the term, “fake news” to describe this reporter during a similar situation - a thin-skinned politician, a press conference, add water, stir. I won’t go over all of that again. Been there. Done that. Wrote a book about it.

And yet, here we are nearly ten years later and rarely do we witness an instance in which another journalist speaks up and simply says, “knock it off Mr. President. Answer the question.” Not one reporter in the room came to Holmes’s defense. Not one.

To make matters worse, the official rapid response X account for the White House sunk to a new low in government social media use by invoking Holmes’s children in a deeply personal attack on the CNN correspondent.

“Someday, your children will come across your disgusting and inhumane question. They will be sickened and embarrassed to have a parent be so callous and vindictive. It’s quite troubling,” the post read.

The only people who should be sickened and embarrassed are the staffers who operate this account. It is never acceptable for government employees to go after a reporter’s children in this disgraceful fashion. But, of course, these White House employees work for Trump. As I like to say, it’s another day that ends in Y. So, they will do this again, and again. And again. There is no bottom. There is no worst. Until they finally go and this is all over.

Sadly, perhaps the most regrettable aspect of this episode is the immediate deafening silence coming from the White House Correspondents Association. As of the writing of this post, the WHCA has yet to make a public statement defending one of its own. This is wrong.

I have known Kristen for many years going all the way back to the 2016 campaign. We worked side by side for months covering Trump’s first run for the presidency. She has worked diligently ever since to rise to the job of White House correspondent - one of the plum assignments of any television network. It is obviously unrealistic at this point to expect that the president and his team will treat members of the press with any kind of professional respect, or at the very least, like human beings. But it is not too much to ask that members of the D.C. media establishment rise to the moment and defend their colleagues when they are subjected to the ugliest kinds of personal attacks. I have no doubt that Kristen’s children will be proud of their mom someday.

The real question is… what about the rest of us?

Triggered Trump Goes Off Half-Cocked: Or so we’ve heard. As we covered in yesterday’s JAMM, Trump posted weird love notes to Kim Jong Un and bashed our ally South Korea over the weekend.

During an Oval Office photo op with hero lifeguard Ryder Williams, Trump flipped out on CNN White House correspondent Kristen Holmes for asking a legitimate but tough question about his interaction with Kim and the decision to scale back military exercises with ROK.

KRISTEN HOLMES: Did he [Kim Jong Un] ask you to scale back on those—?

DONALD TRUMP: Quiet! Quiet! Quiet! You’re very disrespectful in front of this young man, okay? (TO CHILD SEATED NEXT TO HIM) Don’t you find her disrespectful?

He understands. Quiet. Who are you with?

KRISTEN HOLMES: I’m with CNN.

DONALD TRUMP: Fake news. You’re fake news! You’re a loud, boisterous person! You’re fake news. Be quiet! Be quiet! Be quiet!

KRISTEN HOLMES: (CROSSTALKS) I just want to follow up on the South Korea question… / I was trying to find out if you had been talking to Kim Jong Un, if he had asked you to scale back on those military exercises…

DONALD TRUMP: (talking over her) Be quiet! Be quiet! Be quiet! You’re a fake reporter and you report fake news!

Don’t Harp On It: Earlier in the same op, Holmes drew the ire of the entire MAGAsphere by asking about Sen. Jon Ossoff’s reference to Natalie Harp, which sent Trump into a wandering riff on renovations that completely proved Ossoff’s point.

KRISTEN HOLMES: Mr. President — I mean, Jon Ossoff said you’d rather travel with your aide, Natalie Harp, and build the ballroom than do your job as president. What is your response, Jon Ossoff?

PRESIDENT TRUMP: You mean Pee-wee Herman? Pee-wee Herman look-alike? No — I would much rather do other things. We’re building a great facility here. We’re fixing a White House that hasn’t been taken care of. (RANTS FOR SEVERAL PARAGRAPHS)

Joseph McBride, the attorney for Andrew Tate and Tristan Tate, shouted out Donald Trump by name during a bonkers courthouse rant, as tens of Tate supporters rallied and did push-ups to support their “alpha” king.

We’ve been following developments and resurfacing disturbing connections to Donald Trump and his family since the arrests of Andrew and Tristan Tate last month.

When last we left the brothers, Andrew Tate was blurting out a steady stream of persecution complex patter, bizarre slam poetry-esque ranting, and unintentionally hilarious Jack Handey-style Deep Thoughts, and thanking the one guy who showed up to lend moral support outside the jail while his lawyers argued that the brothers are too famous to flee and the Trumps were not returning his calls.

As last week drew to a close, McBride showed up outside the courthouse to announce that his clients, who were expecting to be released Thursday pending extradition, would be held another two weeks while they responded to the government’s motion.

As we covered in Monday morning’s Triggered Trump-themed JAMM, Ossoff dropped this jab about Trump’s constant companion and “Human Printer” Harp during a campaign speech.

Jon Jackoff has to be the biggest cuck loser in politics. Instead of denigrating hard working people serving their country, Jon should look deep into his soul and ask himself why he’s a miserable person who hates this country. It’s because he’s a radical, extremist Dumocrat.

That escalated quickly.

References to Harp have been increasing on social media over the past few weeks and months, but Ossoff appears to have broken open some floodgates. Resistance social media timelines have been dominated by background clips of Harp, and influential figures like the Pod Save guys — Dan Pfeiffer and Tommy Vietor are two of the most plugged-in guys when it comes to Washington, DC media — have been agitating for traditional media to cover the relationship.

There’s another very influential media figure who has raised eyebrows about the Harp-Trump relationship.

Jim Acosta joked that he might get in trouble with the Secret Service for sharing an especially brutal meme featuring Donald Trump, an airline food cart, and Melania Trump.

Along with the rest of America, Acosta has been having fun with the flood of mockery directed at Trump over his food catering truck escape to Chicken Force One last month, which was revealed in bombshell reporting last week.

After hosting firebrand ex-GOP Congressman Joe Walsh on Friday’s show, Acosta shared one more meme that combined the catering truck topic with another emerging theme — Trump staffer and constant presence Natalie Harp.

Harp was one of the few Trump figures — including multiple cabinet-level officials — who wasn’t left stranded on Flying Bullseye Force One.

Acosta closed out the show by wondering aloud if he was going to end up like Jim Comey for laughing too hard at the meme that tied it all together.

You know, there have been lots of different memes. The whole world is laughing at the President of the United States, which is not a new experience for all of us here in America.

But it does happen from time to time. But there’s one of kind of, should we be showing this? (LAUGHING).

It’s Melania pushing the catering container off the clip. She even has the inauguration hat and everything. Trump says, “Natalie, is that you?”.

Oh my god. Am I allowed? Am I going to get in trouble? Am I going get a knock on the door from US Secret Service? Is this like 86-47? Am i allowed to put this on?

Oh, boy. I don’t know. But there’s Melania pushing, pushing. Maybe it was just an accident on her part that she’s pushing the catering container towards a cliff. And then Trump asked if it’s Natalie Harp. Oh my God.

And does-- is Natalie Harp going to become the White House press secretary? I don’t know, folks. Ladies and gentlemen, I only ask the questions here. It’s like Tucker Carlson, I’m only asking the questions. I’m only asking questions here.

But if Natalie Harp becomes the White House Press Secretary, ladies and gentlemen. I don’t know, just from sheer entertainment value, speaking only to that, it might be fun for these next five or six months, because that’s probably all she’s gonna last as White House press secretary.

But she was the human print, they call her the “Human Printer” over at the White House, as opposed to Karoline Leavitt, who was the the “Human Fertilizer”. Spreading bullshit every day.

And so we’ll see if the “Human Printer” becomes the “Human Fertilizer” over at the White House.

While these jokes may purely be intended as a means to trigger Trump, there’s no reason that people who experience incontinence should be shamed in the process. Seriously ill people shouldn’t be catching strays.

The now-infamous video of Donald Trump partying with Jeffrey Epstein in 1992 is from a trove of about 36 hours of footage that was shot for a special on Trump — most of which was never used.

The GOP Senate may have confirmed Todd Blanche as Attorney General despite vocal resistance from Epstein survivors, but the fight for justice and transparency continues. Recently, the judge in Katie Phang’s lawsuit has warned Trump’s DOJ that they face penalties if they don’t comply with his orders and the Epstein Files Transparency Act.

Some of the redactions involve the allegation, from FBI 302 forms, that Trump struck a teen girl after she “bit the sh*t out of” his penis in an assault facilitated by Epstein. Trump has long denied all wrongdoing related to Epstein and other allegations of sexual misconduct.
